Ghost Walk – October 15, 2022

Come join us on Saturday, October 15 for our Ghost Walk to visit historic homes and businesses. You will hear patrons tell a little bit about the history of each place and what is said to lurk between the walls. This is a walking tour –

Rain or Shine. Fun for the whole family

Please purchase tickets at the East Troy Area Historical Society Museum. 2106 Church Street, East Troy, WI the day of the event. Tickets are on sale at 6:00pm. The first tour starts at 6:30pm and the last tour departs at 9:00pm. The tour is approx 45 min – 1 hr long.

Tickets are $10 per person / $5 for ages 12 and under.

2022 Founder’s Day Celebration – May 21 @2:30pm – Oak Ridge Cemetery

We will be honoring Peter Johnson, the first conductor on the train that came out to East Troy.

This is a FREE Event

The celebration will be at the grave site of Peter Johnson on Saturday, May 21st at 2:30pm. Come hear about some history of East Troy as we honor the memory of Peter Johnson.

Cemetery Walk and Ride 2021

When: Friday, October 22, 2021

East Troy Are Historical Society and the East Troy Railroad Museum proudly hosting the Cemetery Walk and Ride 2021. (No Ghost Walk this year due to contruction in the Village)

Take a trip into the past on the East Troy Railroad to the Oak Ridge Cemetery where you will join a guided walking tour to hear about the history of past residents of East Troy. You will learn stories of thier lives while standing near thier final resting place. After, you will board back on the train to go back to the depot.

Cost: $20 per person – purchase tickets the day of at the East Troy Railroad Museum for a specific departure time. Tickets are limited on a first come first serve basis due to seating on the train. Board the train at East Troy Railroad Museum @ 2002 Church Street, East Troy, WI .

Departure times are: 6:15pm, 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9:15pm – Rain or Shine.

Masks are mandatory on the Train and suggested at the Cemetery.

Founder’s Day Presentation

The East Troy Area Historical Society will be hosting their Founder’s
Day Presentation on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00pm at St. Peter’s
Catholic Cemetery in East Troy. We will be honoring August Wilmer. He
was the first elected President in the Village of East Troy.

2020 Officer Elections

The East Troy Area Histroical Society will be holding elections for the two following Officer positions: President and Treasurer.

The election will be held during our monthly meeting, March 10, 2020 at 7:00pm at the East Troy Area Historical Society located at 2106 Church Street, East Troy, WI.

If you are interested in having your name on the ballot, would like to nominate someone, or would like more information regarding those positions, please contact the office at: 262-642-2642 by March 1, 2020. Have you visited the Historical Society Museum lately?

There are new and upcoming displays at the museum (Kubicki Heritage Center)… so come and see us. We are working on a Quilt display, local area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts display and a Barbershop display. A sneak peak of one of the newest exhibits: Father/Son Display of Veterans John and Kenneth Hackbarth.
